Nobody cares

An open letter to those with kids - yes, we know you love them and find them adorable, but nobody else does. Well, I'm sure somebody (grandma and others) loves them to death, but as your co-worker and sometime lunch partner, I don't. Really, do I care about their latest endeavor at home? Their recent little league [insert sport here] game or practice? That cute thing they said at dinner last night? Their most recent illness? No, no I don't. I guess that makes me a dick, but that is the way it is. I just don't understand how people can't see what goes on around them when they speak of their offspring. Really, it isn't that hard to have kids, so don't think you're a genius for figuring that out, and really, let's not put the genius tag on them considering your own limited mind. The fact that I yawn, eyes start darting in every other direction and slowly back away from you should give you a clue that I don't care. Why does having children have to totally consume a person where nothing else matters, where is the balance? Can we have lunch and discuss the game, politics or even work without you bringing up some god awful story about little Susie?
